WELCOME TO KLICKS AFRICA FOUNDATION

After years of challenges and perseverance, which has brought some glimmer of hope to parents living with Autism and other intellectual disabilities (PWDs), the biggest question still lingers on: That, what happens if such parents are not around and those special needs children grow? How will they cope with life and the society at large?

It is for this reason that, Klicks Africa Foundation comes in timely to offer the necessary skills needed to face the challenges of raising children with Autism and other intellectual Disabilities.

Klicks runs an intensive Vocational Training and Resource Centre for youths with special needs, to impact them with Self – help skills, guidance in building up their social skills as well as emotional support to them and their families.

WHEN LIFE TAKES A SUDDEN TURN!

Written by Mary Amoah Kuffour,
Special needs teacher and a mother of a 15 year old Nana Yaa who has autism.

This is my story and journey with Nana Yaa, The day arrived. I was ready and nicely dressed. My feelings were all mixed up. My inclinations leaned towards the expectation of exactly what I had prayed for. Occasionally, a thin film of doubt would rise and fly across my mind.

I would quickly refocus on what I had prayed for-it meant the world to me, and God had had enough trouble to know I wouldn’t take none else for an answer. The scan didn’t take long. “Mrs. Kuffour, it’s a baby girl!” Flashes of pink in all its tints raced across my mind! The excitement I felt was the highest height of emotions that begun some 12 weeks ago.

BLOOMERS HOPE- EVERY MOMENT COUNT

What is Early Intervention

An early intervention program provides support and services for families who have a child from 0-5 with developmental delays or disabilities. If your child is not meeting most of their developmental milestones, they may have a developmental delay or disability. Once your child starts school, teachers and staff will notify you if they think your child is behind in reading, speaking or cognitive skills.

At Klicks, our early intervention service aims to provide a family-centered and comprehensive support system for children with developmental disabilities or delays and their families in the first five years of the child’s life.

Our team

The early intervention team consists of Resource workers and Early intervention teachers who work together with parents or care givers, educators and other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and other professionals according to the needs of the individual child and family.
